About Mr. Migdal
Owen M. Migdal is an attorney whose practice focuses on criminal defense and family law. Before entering private practice, Owen served as a prosecutor in both Baltimore City and Anne Arundel County, where he gained extensive courtroom and trial experience handling a wide range of criminal matters.
Most recently, Owen served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Felony Trial Division of the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office. During his time as a prosecutor, he handled cases including attempted murder, armed robbery, armed carjacking, assault with firearms, domestic violence, arsons, fatal vehicle accidents, home invasions, and burglaries. He has litigated more than 100 criminal trials in Maryland courts, giving him substantial experience examining witnesses, presenting evidence, arguing contested motions, and trying cases before both judges and juries. He litigated over 20 jury trials with the Baltimore City State’s Attorney’s Office in 2025 and 2026, ranging from misdemeanor and serious traffic offenses to felony matters.
Owen now brings that courtroom experience to the defense of individuals facing criminal charges. Having previously prosecuted criminal cases, he understands how the State evaluates, prepares, and presents its evidence. He uses that perspective to scrutinize the prosecution’s case, identify weaknesses in the evidence, and advocate for his clients at every stage of the criminal process.
Owen earned his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah. He was born and raised in Frederick County and graduated from Middletown High School. He is admitted to practice law in Maryland. When Owen was barred in 2023, he was the youngest attorney in the history of Maryland since a law degree became required to practice.
Owen is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Baltimore City, the Baltimore County Bar Association, the Howard County Bar Association, the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys’ Association, and the Simon E. Sobeloff Law Society.
